A Third World Newsreel Evening Seminar with the Documentary Forum at CCNY on October 17, 2018 - a talk with the filmmakers of these shorts:
"1st Little Ladies" (2018, A. Joffee) on the thoughts and hopes of young girls on the eve of the 2016 election and Hilary Clinton's run for president; "Family in Exile" (2018, F. Matousse), a documentary about the conflicts within the filmmaker's Moroccan family, touching on gender tensions, religious beliefs, and parent/child relationships, and "Janie's Janie" (1971, Newsreel) a rarely seen documentary about a white working class mother who frees herself from an abusive marriage to become an activist/organizer in a film that explores gender, class and race.
