The quiet village of Ogawa is nestled deep in the heart of Nagano Prefecture’s mountainous Kamiminochi District.
From its upper slopes, visitors to Ogawa are treated to one of Japan’s most breathtaking views – an unspoiled panorama of the northern Alps, from Mount Kitakuzu in the south as far as Mount Korenge in the north. Winding mountain roads connect local farms and orchards to the village in the valley below. The area is snow-covered during the winter, but its farms and fields glow with colour from spring to autumn.
