At the United States Social Forum in Detroit, Michigan, the National Health and Healing Justice coalition members decided that in addition to providing healing services and envisioning a liberatory health justice movement, we would join in solidarity with Detroiters who were fighting for clean air, good jobs, and justice by marching with them to the world’s largest incinerator. For UPRISING #30, volunteers created and flew flags incorporating the values of the Healing, Health Justice, and Liberation People’s Movement Assembly as we marched to the incinerator—sending our visions into the air we hope will sustain us.
