David and Renji wanted something different with their wedding video, so I devised a little 'dream sequence' for them. On the day of, like with most weddings, everyone was running late, so I had to go hand-held, rather than the planned tripod. Results are now more docu8mm-ish than first planned, but it works. At least, we think so. Please feel free to comment.
Camera: Nikon R10 and Canon 1014 XL-S
Film stock: Kodak Tri-X reversal, shot at 18fps
Processing: Pac-Lab, NYC
HD Transfer: filmmaker8.com
Shot at the standard 1.33:1 aspect ratio, I kept 1.78:1 in mind while shooting and re-framed in Premiere Pro.
Low low bitrate internet video cannot do Super8 justice. The defined grain and latitude is just turned to mush by Vimeo or YouTube, etc. But hopefully you can see a bit of what film can achieve as far as mood and feel.
