Performance realized within the Umbrella Factory art event on 31st January.
"This is a tryptich, a film, an experiment of your senses. 1895, cinema is born, silent. This soundlessness intrigues. To compensate this lack of audio, the cinemas required musicians and actors from the theatre to perform live and interact with the audience and the film. This new "artistic practice" began to evolve and what was first live improvisations became elaborated scores until the death of the period in 1927. My idea for Part One of "A Cinematic History", is to transpose to our times that concept, respecting my believes that silent films should stay as they are. In a conceptual process, using found footages, my film in 5 chapters, is an experimental representation of death, the one of an era."
Sorry for the failure at the end and the sound quality on here as it was in a pub and it wasn't an obligation to watch the performance.
1) THE FILM I made is silent 2) SOUND I am mixing my sound live 3) MUSIC my friend Cat plays the violin.
