World-renowned designer Jason Wu, famous for working with Meghan Markle, Michelle Obama, Julianne Moore, Diane Kruger and more, has teamed up with Otis College of Art and Design and Mary and David Martin’s MADWORKSHOP to mentor 15 senior students. Throughout the academic year, they examined the history and symbolism of historic women’s uniforms and, based upon this research, created a modern ready-to-wear collection. The final collection has been informed by special access to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Costume and Textiles Department. The final runway show will take place at the college on May 4, 2019, on the occasion of its Centennial Year and 100% Initiative. The show will reveal the final designs of all the studio participants, culminating an intensive year-long mentorship program.
