Furniture video for Doug Jackson's Fall 2011 studio and furniture design competition in downtown San Luis Obispo.
This seating is composed of four cushions ergonomically shaped to the body laying down flat. They are each connected by hinges found in futons. These hinges allow the cushions to snap and lock from a variety of positions anywhere from 180 to 90 degrees in order to resist backward rotation. The form ranges from a flat bench to an enclosed circle, which could be used as an ottoman or as a stow away. Its in-between stages form a “C” of different tightness to adapt to the user’s desire--reclined or upright.
