This test was conducted with a Canon 50D with Magic Lantern pre-0.2.2 (Alpha 0). I especially wanted to test the movie recording feature of ML for 50D at "ALL Bit Rates" available (0.1x - 3.0x) because I was considering shooting a short movie with it and I also wanted to see the quality of the clips. I did the test indoors with a natural light coming from a glass door from the right of the setup. Basically I tried to record 30-second clips at every bit rate and one right after the other in a start/stop/start manner. I used a Promaster 8GB UDMA CF card. There were A few moments when the movie recording would freeze and I would have to pull the battery out to turn off the camera (during Bit Rate 2.6x) and sometimes the red dot recording indicator in LiveView would stay on the screen even after I stopped recording. Finally I applied no post effects whatsoever other than the labels across the top of the movie showing the Title and the camera settings. At some point I will actually shoot a short movie with some movement to see how it performs under normal shooting conditions.
