"Clonal Colonies", for Pierrot ensemble (with gongs), video, and computer-realised sound, was commissioned by New York's Avian Orchestra for their botany-themed concert "Vegetative States" in 2011.
This first movement, "Fresh Runners", is a fast romp of densely interlocked textures, thrilling in the process of transformation itself. The second movement, "Soft Strata", is available at vimeo.com/32146213
The music was created with the help of my Variable Coupled Map Networks algorithms. I have created Nodewebba software to make these techniques available to home studio users: bathatmedia.com/software/nodewebba
I made the video with my Brownian Doughnut Warper plugin for Apple Motion (not yet public, but working on it).
See BatHatMedia.com/Gallery/clonal.html for more details.
This version contains an emulation of the acoustic instrument part.
Please note that this Vimeo video provides quite limited audio and visual quality and should never be used for public screening. I'm happy to respond to requests for full-quality versions for public or educational presentation.
