In the third week of this series of teachings, Dr. Don G. Pickney unfolds scriptural principles that release miracle action into our lives. In this teaching our foundation continues to be laid by sharing several principles given to Pastor Don from the Lord Jesus by word of wisdom through the Holy Spirit. Below under “Principles of God’s Power,” Pastor Don deals with Paragraph # 5, which he calls “the most critical aspect of God’s power from the believer’s standpoint.”
During the teaching, he dwells mainly on the nature of God’s promises, and calls attention to 2Peter 1:16-21. There we learn that “no promise of the scripture is of any ‘private interpretation;” that if God opens his storehouse of blessing to anyone, it is for everyone who will believe!
He illustrates this truth by calling attention to a promise made to Joshua, that “as He was with Moses, so He would be with Joshua…” that He would “not fail Joshua, nor forsake him,” so the “no man would be able to stand before Joshua” (to hinder or bring harm to him), and that the Almighty would never fail him in time of trouble. Pastor Don then points to the New Testament scripture that lets us know that if God promised that to Joshua, then it was equally true for us who believer:
Hebrews 13:5-6 AMP “…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Josh. 1:5.] (6) So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me? [Ps. 27:1;118:6.]
