With banking transactions going online, sector leaders face a new challenge: rethinking the role of their brick-and-mortar branches in order to offer a new approach. The new banking experience must embrace one-on-one contact with clients and create original and user-centered solutions in order to make their branch experience pleasant, seamless and fast.
Banco Galicia (bancogalicia.com), one of the largest private banks in Argentina, is a fine example of this transformation process: their internal architecture team, along with retail design agency Total Tool BA (totaltool.net), are pursuing an ambitious plan for rethinking their branches’ design throughout Argentina.
For a more cohesive experience between the physical and digital worlds, this new banking concept incorporates multi-functional spaces such as lounges and community tables for informal meetings, all within an open floor plan.
Throughout 2018, Total Tool once again worked closely with the internal team to define how to apply this new retail model to Banco Galicia's iconic flagship branch. Housed in a historic building in Buenos Aires' financial district, this project takes the approach further and expands it over a space of more than 1800 square meters.
