Creating a sculpture of sounds;
The installation consists out of two different sound bowls. They both produce a sound in an analogous manner by the friction of rubber on the edge of each bowl spinning around on a turntable. The two different tones are dueling with each other in the space around the installation. This results in various sound fields with so called ‘sound knots’. This sculpture of sounds can be experienced by walking through it. The bowls are filled with water to give a more clean tone and to visualize the sound of the bowl. The water pattern corresponds with the sound fields around the installation.
