Here's the preview for Volume 1 of our 3-part DVD series, "Steamin’ Summer". The Steamin’ Summer DVDs present incredible steam action during the heatwave of 2011.
Volume 1 takes place in and around Coldwater, Michigan, where we cover the 3-day 100th birthday celebration for locomotive #110, a 4-6-2 Pacific built by Baldwin. To celebrate, Little River put on an impressive event, including 3 visiting tank engines, Viscose Company #6, Flagg Coal #75, and making its debut, Lehigh Valley Coal #126. Little River #1, another saddle-tank locomotive, was the fifth engine.
Five coal-fired locomotives and a busy trip schedule made for lots of great steam railroading. On the final day, two trips using all five engines to pull the train created unforgettable sights and sounds, which you will enjoy on this full length DVD. Rounding out the program, we show how the traveling tank engines are loaded onto specially equipped trailers. Then we follow the truck convoy as the locomotives head to Rock Island, Illinois to the Train Festival! Video captured using multiple tripod-mounted HD cameras. Running time approximately 91 minutes, organized by chapters, and minimal narration.
