Full title: A convex, minutely puckered surface could be called a vertical sea: Anna Bowen describes an abstract video--a close-up of a blue foam roller with a piece of acetate moving in front of it crinkling loudly and reflecting white and, at times, iridescent light.
This work-in-progress is from a series of videos shot in my apartment, created for experimental audio description. Intentionally repetitive, they provide the poets and writers hired to describe them plenty of space to thoughtfully craft a non-visual point of entry to the work.
These videos are attempt to re-enchant my relationship with domestic space--a realm I am intimately familiar with due to chronic illness and disability--and the objects in it.
Writer and poet Anna Bowen created the experimental audio description for this piece.
I gratefully acknowledge the Ontario Arts Council's support in the creation of this work.
