What’s a key factor in optimizing personal injury outcomes?
Ensuring the injured party has access to all the treatment needed.
As nearly any doctor or lawyer will tell you, that appears to be the exact opposite of the goal of insurers. Insurers want to end a case as quickly as possible and spend as little as possible. So how do doctors and lawyers overcome that boundary to get what their patients and clients need? They both must understand the claims process employed by the insurers to ensure the best outcome for the patient/client.
Starting in the mid-1990s auto insurers started evaluating cases using bodily injury assessment software to evaluate claims. These insurance software programs (Colossus, Claims Outcome Advisor, ClaimIQ, and others) aimed to save insurers money, and provide value based on set factors of a claim. A generation of adjustors have now been trained to look for these specific factors in cases. The use of these bodily injury software systems has been concealed by insurers from injured people, their doctors, and their lawyers, including blatant misrepresentation that the programs are not used or are no longer used.
Doctors: Whenever you treat an accident victim, your medical records become a part of the claim file, perhaps even a litigation file. By understanding the trigger points of the claims software, you can better prepare those records to stand up to the scrutiny of the insurance company. In addition, understanding your role as a treating doctor in the litigation process from beginning to end will further help you make certain your patients’ needs are met. This seminar will give you the tools you need to make you a clear expert on personal injury in your area.
Attorneys: Establishing a good working relationship with your clients’ treating doctors is critical to your case success. Understanding the doctor’s perspective and areas of expertise are key factors in establishing that relationship. Further, to safeguard your clients’ interests, you need to provide the doctors with the information and training about personal injury claims software as well as the litigation process. This seminar will provide you the skills and information necessary to do precisely that.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from each other’s perspectives.
This intensive and one-of-a-kind seminar will be presented by nationally recognized doctor and lawyer Aaron DeShaw, who has individually, and with other firms, obtained settlements and verdicts of over $1 Billion for injured people. For this event, Dr. DeShaw will be joined by co-presenter Peter Anderson, one of the nation’s leading lawyers in handling motor vehicle claims.
This will be a packed weekend of instruction intended to substantially improve your practice and your career. Doctors and attorneys who work on behalf of insurance companies in any way are not allowed to attend and all attendees will be required to sign an affidavit to that effect before being allowed entrance. No audio or video recording will be allowed.
Attendance will be limited. Register now to reserve your seat as the event is expected to sell out.
