Groundwater is a vital resource that is something that we all depend on – for drinking, bathing, growing food, and more. All around the Central Valley, new agencies have been formed to manage groundwater through the framework set out in the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Under SGMA, Groundwater Sustainability Agencies have the task of creating Groundwater Sustainability Plans to get us back on track to managing this resource sustainably.
