In 2008 Renewal SA established a community training and employment model designed to maximise the economic development, community participation and social inclusion benefits of our urban renewal activities.
Works Program initiatives create pathways to employment and build capacity for people and businesses local to our project areas. With the support of funding secured through stakeholder partnerships, we identify training, work experience and employment opportunities and deliver these in collaboration with community, registered training organisations and the private sector.
As a result of Renewal SA’s strong commitment to including economic development clauses in its contracts, the Works Program is able to deliver work experience and employment opportunities to eligible job seekers, and high school, vocational education and university students. These opportunities are varied and provide training and work experience in building and construction trades, community services, and more.
Renewal SA is proud of the impact and difference the Works Program has made to the lives of local people and our project communities.
