In 2014 our theme for the annual Beaufort International Film Festival was all about shrimp....which had to include the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the film Forrest Gump. A large portion of the film was shot in Beaufort so it seemed appropriate for us.
We were very fortunate that year to have as our special guest and honoree the Hollywood Film Editing legend, Arthur Schmidt. Artie was presented with the prestigious Jean Ribaut Award (now referred to as our Lifetime Achievement Award).
As part of the tribute to Artie for his life's work we put together this montage of his films and add some video shoutouts from some of his close friends.
