Commissioned by celebrated mathematician James Simons and inspired by the mathematical theory of the same name, Differential Cohomology captivates with articulate precision and passionate intensity. The piece is based on a diagram of a hexagon with positions for commutative groups or "players" to sit. Using both highly athletic and subtle qualitative movement, the “players” travel on this hexagon, in specific sequences, where they encounter moments of intimacy, wild rebellion, and inevitability. The result is the transformation of an idea into an evocative and absorptive performance.
