Last month, Darkspark was honoured to visit beautiful Clyde River, Nunavut. We were invited by the incredible Ilisaqsivik Society, who is world-renowned for their Inuit-led counselling program and so many other inspiring projects.
We were asked to work with youth in Clyde to build on the amazing work Ilisaqsivik Society is doing to provide young people with healthy tools of self-expression. Funded by the Government of Nunavut Quality of Life Secretariat, we supported a selection of Grade 7-9 students at Quluaq School in sharing their stories, struggles and voices through song.
The amazing song they wrote "Afraid Hearts" will be released tomorrow!
Special thanks to: Quluaq School, Ilisaqsivik Society, Government of Nunavut, Shari Fox, Malcolm Ranta, Rebecca Hainnu, Jerry Natanine, Robert Kautuk and Mike Jaypoody for the amazing drone footage,Memorecks for the production, Zach Patton for creating this video and the incredible youth of Clyde River!
