Peter Maravelis is the Event Director at City Lights Booksellers and Publishers. For over two decades he has curated events bringing about the intersection of the literary world with that of the arts, philosophy, and the sciences. He has produced special programming that explores the cutting edge of ideas, opening discussion between leaders in different fields and the public. He has produced numerous symposium style events that include Trajectories of the Catastrophic: A Critical Appraisal of Paul Virilio, Haunted Reflections: Walter Benjamin in San Francisco, Subtle Channels: An Oulipo Laboratory, Weimar Mirror: Revisiting Alfred Döblin, and Carnival Pataphysique: The Life and Work of Alfred Jarry. In 2020, he is curating a conference in San Francisco about quantum technologies and their effects upon the planet and the human species.
