A record-player needle is an essential part of listening to vinyl records. Today, needles used all over the world are produced in the factory of NAGAOKA, located in Higashine, Yamagata Prefecture. As they boast a 90% share worldwide, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that almost all the record player needles in the world are made in Tohoku.
The Tohoku region produces record-player needles to be sold across the globe. This little-known fact and NAGAOKA’s love for vinyl records, prompting continued production of the needles even during vinyl records’ decline in popularity, have been integrated in this video and interwoven with beautiful landscapes of Tohoku.
