The Grade 7-9 students from Clyde River had some powerful perspectives to share with us about their lives in this stunning, remote place - the good and the bad.
We set out to write two songs together - one reflecting the things they love about their community, the other about some of the real hardships they face. Unfortunately, the weather gods were not on our side, and due to relentless blizzards, we were only able to complete one song. We'll just have to go back!
This song reflects some of the challenges that youth in Clyde face - isolation, feelings of missing out, addiction and more. They had a clear message to their peers and their community - one of hope, strength and resilience.
Please enjoy and share this song called ‘Afraid Hearts’
