Outlets, hose spigots, electrical boxes and other obstacles are unavoidable but easy to overcome with GenStone. You have two options when you encounter an obstacle, you can miter trim around any square object or opt to remove a portion of the panel to account for the obstacle. In this demonstration, our outlet not only fell in the middle of our run, it also fell in between two panels. This made the process more difficult but the same as any other obstacle. To create the void for the outlet, we measured where the outlet cover would fall vertically and horizontally on the panel, then removed the outlet cover to trace its shape on the back of the panels. We removed the void by drilling a hole in the middle of the square then cut the square to shape using a jigsaw. When you attach the panels to the wall, secure the edges of the cut with face screws and finalize the void by painting the exposed cut edges with your paint kit.
