In October of 2009, Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland and Habitat for Humanity Romania joined forces.
Two cultures brought together for one extraordinary purpose; to build a commuity for a group of adult orphans who never had a place to call home.
Abandoned as children and raised in overcrowded orphanages, a life of hardship awaited them as they entered the streets at 18 with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
For decades, affordable housing meant living in atrocious conditions with often no running water, bathrooms or electricity. Habitat for Humanity is striving to change that. In just one week, an impossible dream became a reality for 10 adult orphans.
