Dr Nikita Chiu is Research Fellow in Robotics and Outer Space Technologies at the Centre for Technology and Global Affairs, University of Oxford. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge.
At Oxford and Cambridge, she investigates the dynamics between technological advances and the international order, with a focus on the political and security implications brought by increasing commercialisation of robotics and space technologies.
Dr Chiu studied and researched at Sciences Po Paris, Trinity College Dublin, the Prague Secretariat of the OSCE and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. She holds a PhD in International Studies from Geneva and an MPhil in Technology Policy from Cambridge.
Dr Chiu has taught on China and Global Governance in Hong Kong, Estonia, and the UK. She is a former Lecturer in Chinese Foreign Policy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and an Associate Lecturer in War, Peacekeeping, and Military Operations in the UK.
