kukka.nl - After designer Laura Luchtman experienced up close what is wrong with the fashion system, she emerged herself in the world of biodesign in order to raise the bar in her own design practice as well as the industry.
Together with Ilfa Siebenhaar she started using bacteria to colour textiles. They experimented with sound waves and petri dishes on speakers, the result is amazing.
Laura is the Creative Director of Kukka, a textile & surface design studio in Rotterdam. Kukka's work has been internationally exhibited at Dutch Design Week, Material Revolution L.A., London Design Festival, TextielMuseum Tilburg, Munich Fabric Start, State of Fashion, Raw Assembly Sydney, Design Shanghai, India Design ID Delhi, Future Fabrics Expo London and Neonyt Berlin.
