In the face of 3 billion people around the world facing hunger and poverty each day, Pope Francis reminds us, “The words of Our Lord call to us today, telling us not to turn away, indifferent, when we know our neighbor is hungry.” Turning those words into action, we will once again kick off the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Eucharistic Congress with a Friday morning meal packing event.
Recognizing that our military service members know intimately that call to action in service to others, we invite active and veteran members of all military branches to join us for our 9:00 a.m. Catholic Relief Service Helping Hands meal packing session on Friday, June 21. Bishop Bernard Shlesinger, III, an Air Force veteran himself, will join us.
Space is limited and registration is required. Sign up at helpinghands.crs.org/events/atlec.
