"Objects of Desire is a late 19th century study concerning the rudiments of sound and their imagined origins as inspired by volume and movement. The film explores the work of Hungarian professor Péter Harsányi (1926 - 1979) who dedicated his life to the study of objects and their sounds. Through viewings of his collections, interviews with his peers and photographs from the Harsányi estate, we are invited to enter a peculiar, sensory world of objects; archived and presented."
Made at Newport Film School, most sounds collected on location in Budapest, Hungary. Other object sound recordings were made in collaboration with Peter Swaffer Reynolds who also provides the voice of the professor.
