DIRECTED, SHOT AND EDITED by TREVOR THOMAS
To complement the debut exhibition by the Found Objects Artist Collective I created this 17 minute film, that is both an installation, documentary and message.
the film follows 4 bondi artists at work in their studios.
Interwoven are some equally more thought provoking images of our daily waste.
Insane levels of Human detritus.
Scraps from a material world.
Our rubbish, the things we discard.
The enormity of our waste on a global scale is something of an enchantment and perpetual fascination and within this film I have tried show the rubbish as raw as I can and the gargantuan power of it produces moments of profound beauty and sublime ugliness.
As we drift cautiously into the 21st century our attitudes towards what we consume and what we waste need to change.
This Bondi based artists collective highlight a positive movement, but also opens the debate about what to do and how to make some change.
Only time will tell…..
