Current Parker parent and trustee John Levi spoke about his work with the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a government-sponsored nonprofit organization with a mission is to provide equal access to justice for poor Americans by funding civil legal aid services across the nation. In addition to his regular job as a partner at the law firm Sidley Austin, Levi was appointed LSC board chairman by President Obama. Levi discussed the widespread need for legal aid services for low-income citizens across the country. To highlight the impact of access to the legal system, he showed a video of compelling and real-life examples of people assisted by LSC-supported legal aid organizations. He also encouraged Parker students to consider how they can help bridge the justice gap in the United States.
