We follow visual artists Ramiro Rodriguez and Laurie Rousseau as they balance the responsibilities of raising two young sons with the challenges of making art and earning a living. Laurie and Ramiro do not live the romantacized lives of artists found in popular culture. Their existence is a blur of children, jobs and making art. Their shared studio work space is a jumble of works in progress, art supplies, printing presses and work benches. Turn a corner and you’re likely to stumble upon one of their boys, curled up in a chair doing homework while his parents work. In spite of it all, Laurie and Ramiro have each managed to create a powerful body of work. As artists and as parents, they have mastered the art of living.
