iRobot makes auto recharging easy, but Carl can attest this is no small feat. Carl has been learning how to recognize when he is charging, fully charged (trickle charging), and discharging. The next step is to get off the dock when full, and get back on when thirsty. This video documents Carl's has learned to get off his doc (not that hard), and learned how to dock from a designated dock approach point. Eventually, we'll work on how he finds the dock and gets lined up at the approach point, but so far Carl's potty training is coming along well.
