Sunday, April 28, 2019. First Baptist Church, Burlington, Kansas. Pastor Jay Hale. In several places in the Bible Jesus is called the Lamb of God. In Jewish culture a lamb was killed to atone for the sins of the people. Jesus died on the cross for us, atoning for our sins, making us righteous before God if we only will turn to Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The lamb, later called the Passover lamb, was a remembrance of the time the Jews were preparing to leave Egypt.
