Synopsis: It is the past that determines the future of Armenia, says a woman right at the beginning of the film. Much of what is said later in the film proves her right. In 2010 Karin Hammer spent several months in Armenia. She traveled the country and talked to the people. The Super 8 camera was her constant companion. Always present but never intrusive Karin Hammer captured fragments of Armenian daily life on film. In interviews Armenians express themselves about politics and commonplaces: about the war, the Soviet era, the Mountain Ararat and the traditional role allocation.
Directorʼs Statement: In 2010 I was living in Armenia for a couple of months. I lived together with a family in a tiny appartment – 4 generations under one roof. Something very usual in Armenia. So from a very close distance I was able to watch their everyday life. I was surprised what a huge impact Armeniaʼs history had on everybodyʼs everyday life. After some time I started to film and talk to people I met and asked them about their lives, their wishes, dreams and hopes.....
