In East Asian society today, there currently exists this standard for “beautiful,” consisting of physical attributes, including being skinny, having pale skin, big eyes, long hair, as well as looking more Western. From these standards of beauty emerge the pressure a lot of Asian women today feel to look this certain way and adhere to this standard of beauty. Women are taking various actions such as plastic surgery in order to alter and change how they are naturally to fit society’s expectations. Beauty has not only become a trend, but a very real standard that is growing deeper and deeper into society.

This film seeks to bring awareness on this emerging issue, taking a realistic approach on the situation, seeking to figure out the root of the issue, as well as explore ways to bring about change through 10 eye-opening interviews with 10 diverse individuals in the George Washington University student community.
