The Water Quality Protection Lands program (WQPL)is one of the best kept, local secrets, yet it plays a critical role in one of the greatest Austin landmarks – Barton Springs. Austinites have chosen to fund more than $155 million in land conservation that not only protects the Springs, but is also home to some of the last wild places in our community. Science has shaped where we buy lands and how we manage them to keep the natural systems functioning and Barton Springs clean and flowing.
