A photographic journy through the wild Une Semaine de Bonte, a surrealistic novel in collage by Max Ernst. This prolific DaDa and Surrealist artist is perhaps best known for his Merz collages and dreamy paintings (not to mention his relationship with Peggy Guggenheim and Leonora Carrington), but this early novelistic study in the alchemical aesthetic is certainly worth a read. It is noted that many of these images demand a certain decoding, as if pointing to some imbedded meaning.
The song is Justice Planisphere (part 1) which I found to be a fitting match to these remixed images coming from the turn of the century european society as depicted in the popular novels of the day.
