Home. What does it actually mean? For the last two years I’ve been homeless. I decided to give up my own house and start traveling. Why? Because I was not completely happy at home and wanted to get out of my routine.
Instead of being a normal tourist I wanted to stay over at locals. To do research about our feelings of home. What part of a home makes people happy? A family, the neighborhood or a big house?
What I discovered is that there is a lot of loneliness in the world, even under 20 and 30 year old’s, but we are too embarrassed to talk about it. It happened to me as well.
I think a lot of woman from my age are struggling how to direct their lives. When do we want to settle down? What to do with our careers? Or how to find love?
For many years I lived as a digital nomad. I traveled to the most beautiful destinations, but it didn’t help me in finding happiness. I want to break down this taboo.
More than 50 families, single or couples offered me their home. All their stories are captured in my project “Can I come over?” Now I want to publish a book, because I have been inspired by these stories. But did I find my answers? It might surprise you.
