Session 3 Part 1: ydyc.org/media/video/living-free-series/session-three/what-is-the-bible-about/
The Bible is primarily about you, giving the standard for a meaningful life, the revelation of Jesus and the key to true freedom and liberty.
The Bible is also known as the Word of God and the Scriptures.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God:
What does it mean that the Bible is inspired? The word 'inspiration' simply means 'God-breathed'. As we read in the book of Timothy in the Bible,"All Scripture is God-breathed." When people speak of the Bible as inspired, they are referring to the fact that God divinely influenced the human authors of the Scriptures in such a way that what they wrote was what God wanted us to know. Inspiration means the Bible truly is the Word of God and makes it unique among all other books.
The Bible is God's workshop manual:
The Bible is God's way, the creator of the Universe, of communicating to his creation.
Each of the 66 books in the Bible has a different theme and a different way of showing us who God is and teaching us his way. As the Bible says, "All Scripture is given by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for correcting faults, and for teaching how to live right." (2 Timothy 3:16)
The Bible is the source of truth:
The Bible is truthful because it proceeds out of the mouth of God and it is impossible for God to lie. In John's gospel we read, "Your word is the truth. So let this truth make them completely yours." (John17:17)
The Bible is powerful:
The Bible says in the book of Hebrews, "Whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are." (Hebrews 4:12)
