Message in a Bottle
Cartoon-Film: two depressed penguins are sitting on their breeding island, complaining to each other: continually, they must unwillingly take leave from family members who’ve gone on to penguin heaven. As they’re lamenting, they notice that the Humboldt Penguin stands just short of becoming extinct. Then, a ship sinks nearby and some flotsam comes to shore, a wine bottle. That gives them the idea to send an emergency message in a bottle to President Piñera.
The reason for this film is the continuing threat to the habitat of the Humboldt Penguin in northern Chile. Currently, this comes from the planned mining and port projects, such as under the catchword ‟Dominga”. In May 2019, the Ramsel Vineyard from Kirrweiler, Germany (in the Pfalz) brought out a special edition ‟Penguin Wine”, in order to support the species protection work from Sphenisco. Thus, the penguin wine was given a special role in ‟Nickel”Nicole Bertram’s film, ‟Message in a Bottle”.
