Having celebrated her 74th birthday and 54th wedding anniversary in 2011, Mo Anderson is the heart and truly beloved leader of Keller Williams Realty. Her personal integrity and unending drive are touchstones that have made Keller Williams Realty one of the most successful franchises in real estate history.
Mo joined Keller Williams Realty as president and chief executive officer in 1995, and shepherded the company from 35 market centers to more than 530 within 10 years. She became vice chairman of the board in 2005.
Known at times as the “Velvet Hammer” for her uncompromising approach, Mo’s astute business acumen and leadership abilities are uniquely matched by her faith and compassion. She has continuously cultivated the firm’s value system, inspiring tens of thousands of associates throughout North America to maintain high standards of character within their personal and professional lives.
Mo has received numerous honors and accolades. She was named one of America’s Top 25 Influential Thought Leaders by Realtor magazine in 2006. In 2007, the Women’s Council of Realtors recognized her as one of Real Estate’s Most Influential People. She was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Leaders by the CRB Council in 2008 and named Woman of the Year by the Edmond Chamber of Commerce in 2010. Most recently, she was named the 2011 Pioneer Woman of the Year by the Pioneer Woman Museum Advisory Board for making a tangible difference in her community and society as a whole.
A tireless supporter of community causes, she has been named twice as Oklahoma’s Women in Business Advocate of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. She serves on numerous boards and helps others through two non-profit organizations she founded. Following Hurricane Katrina, KW Cares raised $5.3 million under Mo’s leadership to support rescue and recovery efforts of Keller Williams associates in affected region.
