Thursday, April 11 • 11:30–12:30 PM • Session Room 2
Geothermal heat pumps are known for their ultra-high efficiencies for heating and cooling, and unparalleled environmental benefits. But they also rank near the top of a variety of important metrics important to electric utilities, such as peak shaving, grid utilization, distributed energy resource, energy intensity and carbon emission avoidance. This session will explain how broad deployment of geothermal heat pumps will bring broad gas and electric system benefits while at the same time significantly lowering cost for all ratepayers.
