The child lines up the plunger and with force jabs it into the cardboard tube. When he does that, some of the pellets are forced through the tube, but many fly out of the tube because of the speed and force employs to make the pellets move down the tube. He keeps the plunger in the tube and gives the pellets a couple of short and not so powerful strokes. AS he pulls out the plunger, he has captured some pellets. Methodically with even pressure and speed, he pulls them out the tube. He then turns to me says: "Wasn't that funny when I just blasted it?" His gesture with thrusting the plunger when he says blasted it at the end added a little emphasis to his statement.
