Dirty Douks
Dirty Douks was a collaboration of Alexa Bunnell and Skylar Eyre, both of Doukhobor descent, based in Moh-kìn-stsis (Calgary), on Treaty 7 Territory in Alberta. Dirty Douks is primarily concerned with the intersection of queerness and Doukhobor identity, manifesting itself through performative works, video and photo. Activating methods of resistance and embodied time travel, Dirty Douks creates a historically and emotionally informed recalibration and re-establishment of a simultaneously queer and Doukhobor existence.
