The Open Hands Initiative, together with international news website GlobalPost, brought together 17 top, young journalists--8 Americans, 9 Egyptians--to participate in the "Covering a Revolution" Reporting Fellowship in Cairo from October 12-23, 2011.
This fellowship consisted of a three-day seminar led by expert panelist from Egypt and the United States, followed by five days of collaborative field reporting.
Working together, the American and Egyptian writers, videographers, and photographers covered five "beats" critical to understanding and telling the story of the Egyptian Revolution
