The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) presented its 2011 Innovation Excellence Award to member company Tangoe, Incorporated. The award was made at the Council’s Annual Meeting held at Fairfield University on December 8th. The Innovation Excellence Award is now in its eight year and is given to the CTC member which has displayed technology leadership in its industry vertical, grabbed increasing market share, and been recognized for innovation by its peer or trade groups and industry analysts.
Frank Marco, a partner at the law firm of Wiggin and Dana, was honored as Volunteer of the Year. Marco was a founder of the Council in 1994 and has served on its Board for most of its 17 years. He has helped craft almost every Council public policy agenda since the Council was born.
Victor Budnick, a retiring Board Member, was given a Technology Leadership Award. As the President and Executive Director of Connecticut Innovations for ten years, the State of Connecticut's investor in emerging technology companies, CI became a national model for public investment in the technology sector, a chieving returns commensurate with the most successful private sector peers. Budnick is now the Managing Director of Ironwood Capital where he has been since 2006.
