Having seen a short documentary on youtube that i had made at film school with a friend of mine the organisers of the Fantasia Film Festival contacted me to see if i would be willing to create a cut down version of the opening that could play before Ken Russell appears on stage to collect his lifetime achievement award.

Here are some comments from Mitch Davis, organiser of the festival:

"youtube.com/watch?v=xpZagdBC8v8 . It was after seeing this video that I tracked Arran down and asked if he would like to work on a montage that we could screen at our ceremony. He very generously came on board and delivered a phenomenal piece of work.

Ken watched the montage from the very front row with his wife Lisi, both smiling from ear to ear as the audience shrieked and cheered. At the point when Ken's name first appears onscreen, the crowd screamed so loudly it felt as if the roof was going to cave in."
