December 16 2011, the Council of Casale Monferrato has to debate wether accept or not 18 millions of euros offered by Stephan Schmidheiny, former owner of Eternity group, accused to be the responsible of the death of more than 2000 people of Casale for asbestos contamination. If the Council accept his offer the town of Casale Monferrato will withdraw from the trial. What it's really at stake is the meaning of representative democracy.
