“Recognition at last” is a documentary about Introdans founder Ton Wiggers. In the past 40 years Introdans became an international top ballet company based in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

With Introdans Wiggers has achieved that modern ballet became more accessible to a wide audience. Despite of all his success, the 64-year-old founder who still leads the company has also been strongly criticized.

Wiggers frequently looks back with mixed feelings on his success. This documentary uncovers his struggle for recognition. An intimate portrait that reveals the world behind the glamour of ballet.

“Recognition at last” is a film of Bas Berkhout. Berkhout previously won with his documentary Roos Rebergen - I'm not so sure the Film Award of the City of Utrecht at the Dutch Film Festival in 2009.

“Recognition at last” will premiere on December 29, 2011 at TV Gelderland and submitted to international film festivals in the coming year.
